Violet Ring (“we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes mobile applications available at violetring.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our apps.

This policy applies to all Violet Ring apps listed below. Each app has an additional section describing practices specific to that product.

1. Information we collect (all apps)

Account & identity

When you create an account, we may collect:

• Email address

• Display name or nickname

• Profile photo (if you choose one or sign in with Google or Apple)

• Authentication identifiers from Google, Apple, or email/password sign-in

Information you provide

Depending on the app, you may provide:

• Preferences and settings

• Feedback or support messages

• Content you create in the app (see app-specific sections below)

Automatic & technical data

We may automatically collect:

• Device type, operating system, and app version

• Push notification tokens (to deliver notifications you opt into)

• Basic usage and diagnostic data (e.g. crashes, performance) to keep apps reliable

• IP address and general location (country/region level) processed by our hosting and authentication providers

Payment information

If you purchase a subscription (where offered):

• Apple App Store or Google Play process payment. We receive subscription status and product identifiers, not your full card number.

• Web subscriptions (where offered) may be processed by a third-party payment provider; we receive confirmation of purchase, not full payment details.

2. How we use information (all apps)

We use collected information to:

• Create and manage your account

• Provide app features and personalize your experience

• Send notifications you have enabled

• Process subscriptions and restore purchases

• Respond to support requests

• Improve, secure, and troubleshoot our apps

• Comply with legal obligations

We use information only for purposes described in this policy or disclosed in the app.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with:

Service providers

Trusted vendors that help us operate our apps, such as:

• Google Firebase — authentication, cloud storage, messaging, and analytics/crash reporting (as configured per app)

• Google Cloud — application hosting and file storage

• Apple & Google — sign-in and in-app purchases

• AI & content providers — to generate personalized content in apps that use AI (see app sections)

• Email providers — to send optional notifications or support replies

These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.

Legal & safety

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, or to enforce our terms — especially regarding abuse reports in apps with user-generated content.

Business transfers

If Violet Ring is involved in a merger or acquisition, user information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

4. Data retention

We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service.

When you delete your account (in-app or by contacting support), we delete or anonymize your personal data from our active systems. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time (typically up to 30 days) before automatic deletion.

Some app-specific content may be retained longer where required by law or legitimate business needs (e.g. abuse-report records); see app sections below.

5. Your choices & rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information

• Object to or restrict certain processing

• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based

• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

Account deletion: Each app supports in-app account deletion. See our Account Deletion page for step-by-step instructions per app.

Push notifications: Disable in device settings or in-app notification preferences.

Email communications: Adjust preferences in the app where available, or contact support@violetring.com.

6. Children’s privacy

Our apps are intended for general audiences. Aluna Bedtime Stories may be used by parents or guardians with children; parents/guardians should create and manage the account.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information without consent, contact support@violetring.com and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International users

Our services are operated from the United States. If you use our apps from other regions, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our service providers operate.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of our apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Aluna — Meditation

Applies to the Aluna meditation app (com.violetring.aluna)

What this app does

Aluna provides AI-assisted, personalized guided meditations based on your preferences and conversations with the in-app assistant.

Additional data we collect

1. Meditation preferences (interests, goals, tone, duration)

2. Conversation history with the AI assistant used to personalize scripts

3. Generated meditation scripts and audio metadata

4. Subscription tier and purchase history (via Apple or Google)

5. Optional feedback, screenshots, or support messages you submit

How we use this data

• Generate personalized meditation content (text and audio)

• Improve recommendations and AI responses

• Manage subscriptions and restore purchases

• Diagnose crashes and improve app performance

AI processing

Your preferences and conversation content may be sent to third-party AI providers to generate meditations. We configure these services to process data for our purposes only, not for their independent advertising.

Aluna Bedtime Stories

Applies to the Aluna Bedtime Stories app (com.violetring.alunabedtimestories)

What this app does

Aluna Bedtime Stories generates custom bedtime stories (text and audio) for children and families based on preferences and prompts you provide.

Additional data we collect

• Account information (email, display name, profile photo)

• Story preferences (characters, themes, age range, reading level, voice settings)

• Prompts and inputs you provide for story generation

• Generated stories, images, and audio files associated with your account

• Story playback and usage history

• Subscription status (where applicable)

• Optional uploaded documents or text used as story inspiration (if you use that feature)

How we use this data

• Create, store, and play back generated stories

• Remember preferences across sessions

• Improve story quality and app features

• Manage subscriptions

• Provide customer support

AI & audio processing

Story text, images, and narration may be processed by third-party AI and text-to-speech providers (e.g. language models and voice synthesis services). Content you submit for generation is used to produce your stories.

Children & families

Accounts should be created by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 without parental involvement. Story content you generate may include names or details you choose to enter — please avoid entering sensitive personal information about children.

Account deletion

Profile → Delete account in the app. Deleting your account removes your stories and associated data from our active systems. See our Account Deletion page for details.

Surprise Yourself

Applies to the Surprise Yourself app (com.violetring.surpriseyourself)

What this app does

Surprise Yourself is a social challenge app. Users join games with friends, share accomplishments (posts), comment, vote, and send direct messages.

Additional data we collect

• Account information (email, nickname, profile photo)

• User-generated content: accomplishment posts, photos, comments, and direct messages

• Game participation (games joined, created, scores, medals)

• Email notification preferences (none, immediate, daily, or weekly digest)

• Push notification tokens

• Invite and join-request activity

• Abuse reports and block lists (when you report or block another user)

How we use this data

• Operate games, leaderboards, messaging, and social features

• Send push notifications and optional email digests

• Moderate user-generated content and respond to abuse reports within 24 hours

• Improve app functionality and safety

User-generated content & visibility

Content you post in a game may be visible to other participants in that game. Messages are visible to you and the recipient. Other users can report or block you; we review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts.

Content filtering

We use automated filters and human review to detect and remove objectionable content.

Third parties commonly involved

Firebase (authentication), Google Cloud (hosting and image storage), email delivery providers for optional digests, Apple/Google (sign-in).

Account deletion

Profile → Delete account in the app. Type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your profile, posts, comments, messages, game memberships, and sign-in account. See our Account Deletion page for details.
