These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of mobile applications published by Violet Ring (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including our website at violetring.com.

By downloading, installing, or using any Violet Ring app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our apps.

1. Who we are

Violet Ring develops and publishes mobile applications for personal growth, creativity, and connection. Our apps include Aluna (Meditation), Aluna Bedtime Stories, and Surprise Yourself.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use our apps, unless a specific app requires a parent or guardian (see Aluna Bedtime Stories below).

If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian’s permission to use the app.

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.

3. Your account

You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

You may sign in using Google, Apple, or email (where supported).

You may delete your account at any time. See our Account Deletion Policy for instructions per app.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use (all apps)

You agree not to:

Use our apps for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ accounts
Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code except where permitted by law
Upload malware or interfere with app operation
Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the service

We may remove content, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions & purchases

Some apps offer paid subscriptions or in-app purchases processed by Apple App Store or Google Play.

Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device’s App Store or Google Play account settings.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies.
Web subscriptions (where offered) are subject to the terms shown at purchase.

We do not store your full payment card number.

6. Intellectual property

Our apps, branding, software, and original content are owned by Violet Ring or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use each app for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our apps or content except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.

7. AI-generated content

Some Violet Ring apps use artificial intelligence to generate personalized content (meditations, stories, or other material).

AI-generated content is for personal use and entertainment/wellness purposes only.
It is not medical, psychological, legal, or professional advice.
AI output may be inaccurate or inappropriate; use your own judgment.
Do not rely on AI-generated content for emergency or safety-critical situations.

For medical or mental-health concerns, consult a qualified professional.

8. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using our apps, you acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

OUR APPS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VIOLET RING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OUR APPS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of our apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of [Your State — e.g. California], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Aluna — Meditation

Service description

Aluna provides AI-assisted personalized guided meditations based on your preferences and conversations with the in-app assistant.

Your content & AI

You may provide preferences, goals, and conversation inputs. This information is used to generate meditations for you. See our Privacy Policy for how this data is handled.

Subscriptions

Paid tiers (where available) unlock additional features. Subscription terms are also subject to Apple or Google store terms.

Wellness disclaimer

Aluna is not a medical device and does not provide medical or mental-health treatment. Do not use it as a substitute for professional care.

Aluna Bedtime Stories

App: com.violetring.alunabedtimestories

Service description

Aluna Bedtime Stories generates custom bedtime stories (text and audio) based on preferences and prompts you provide.

Parent/guardian responsibility

Accounts should be created and managed by a parent or guardian. Parents are responsible for supervising children’s use of the app and for content generated from prompts they provide.

Your content

You retain ownership of prompts and inputs you provide. You grant Violet Ring a license to process them to generate and deliver stories. Do not enter sensitive personal information about children in story prompts.

Generated content

Stories are AI-generated for entertainment. We do not guarantee accuracy, appropriateness, or suitability for every child. Review content before sharing with children if concerned.

Subscriptions

Paid features (where available) are subject to store subscription terms.

Surprise Yourself

App: com.violetring.surpriseyourself

Service description

Surprise Yourself is a social challenge app. Users create or join games, share accomplishments (posts), comment, vote, and send direct messages to other participants.

Acceptable use — zero tolerance

Surprise Yourself has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

You agree not to post, share, or send content that:

Is harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory
Is sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate
Bullies or targets other users
Is spam, misleading, or impersonates others
Violates any applicable law

Violations may result in immediate removal of content and permanent account termination.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you post. You grant Violet Ring a license to host, display, and distribute your content within the app to operate the service.

You are responsible for content you post. Do not share information you are not comfortable making visible to other game participants.

Reporting and blocking

The app provides tools to:

Report objectionable posts, comments, or messages
Block abusive users (their content is hidden from you immediately)

Blocking also notifies our moderation team. We review reports and aim to act within 24 hours, including removing content and banning users who violate these Terms.

Moderation

We may remove content, suspend, or permanently ban accounts at our discretion, with or without notice, to keep the community safe.

Content filtering

We use automated filters and human review to detect objectionable content.

Delete your account anytime: Profile → Delete account in the app. See our Account Deletion Policy.
